How It Works

Every job on Remotato comes directly from the hiring system of a vetted company — not scraped from other boards, not submitted by recruiters. Here's exactly how that works.

We start with a vetted list of companies

Every company on Remotato has been manually reviewed for a genuine commitment to remote work. We source our company list from Nodesk, a curated directory of remote-first organizations. No company gets in just by paying — they have to actually work remotely.

We detect each company's hiring system

Each company uses an ATS (Applicant Tracking System) to manage job listings. We automatically detect which one they use — Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable, SmartRecruiters, or their own custom system — so we know exactly where to look for open roles.

We pull jobs directly from the source, every day

A scheduled script runs daily and fetches open positions directly from each company's ATS via their public API or careers feed. This means you're seeing the same data the company's own website shows — not a copy scraped from another job board days later.

We filter, normalize, and present

Raw job data varies wildly across different hiring systems. We normalize remote type, department, location, and posting date into a consistent format so you can filter and compare across hundreds of companies without friction. Listings flagged as "join our talent pool" or similar non-job entries are excluded automatically.
